Try Ballet with Maggie Seebeck! Maggie Seebeck, is a Junior at Cohasset High School. She began her dance training at age 5 and currently dancea 6 days a week in a pre-professional ballet program. She has been accepted/attended professional ballet programs at the Atlanta Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre, the Jeffrey Ballet School, the Kansas City Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence, Next Generation Ballet Tampa and the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. She loves kids and looks forward to a fun summer sharing her passion for ballet with the kids of Cohasset.
Fairtytale Ballerinas
For children who are ready to be in a class by themselves. Kids will begin to learn the basics of creative movement and basic ballet; Socialization skills such as turn-taking and following instructions will be emphasized. We will explore movement, musicality, practice gross motor coordination. Creative and fun games, stories and imaginative exercises. Have your little ones come dance with us! Each class will be centered around the story of a classical ballet (Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland). We will read a story, learn some ballet basics, dance and have fun!
Beginning Ballet
For 5-7 years old. Elements of creative movement will be expanded upon and movement exercises that emphasize straight legs and pointed feet, posture, placement, stretches and comportment of classical ballet. Basic ballet concepts such as the 5 basic positions, plie and releve will be introduced in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
